Hi found this button mding and iv been looking up for a couple weeks about this button and i keep hitting dead ends. cant find anything about it so far so maybe someone on hear can help me on it.

Knowing what state you found that button at might help us identify it. Besides Texas, several other states and local Militia, and also businesses, have used a 5-point star emblem on their uniform buttons. There seems to be some lettering surrounding the star, and also some lettering on the button's back. In addition to your state location, please tell us as much of the lettering on the front and back as you can accurately decipher.

It's DEF! A Keeper.... Pewter Maybe?

I'd Want it to be a Civil War or Pre-CW MS Of Texas Button. Hopefully that's what it is.
