How old are the ones with the 4 holes? 20th century?

I love finding buttons like those...because I know that where there are buttons there are usually a few coins as well. And I'll always be quite happy with a nice Tombac or Dandy Button...


But that is a good assortment of buttons for the time spent. Nice work!

Hi Mate.....when was the horse paddock last ploughed :icon_scratch: supprised you have not had more Hammered of the button field ??? some of the finds look to be quite early ::) the spindle whorl looks like a early one :thumbsup:

4 holes are generally 20th as you say.

The horse paddock has not been plough in recent memory (maybe over 50-100 years ago).

The button field has been done quite well in the past & we have sucked off most of the good finds already. We are down to the nails & tiny bits of lead :wink:
