Hi to all,
I found this under an old plum tree, and posted it a few days ago in Today'sFinds. I was hunting with an Ace250 in all metal mode when this rang like a half dollar.
The site is an old RR depot, and while I haven't been able to find any visible evidence of its existence other than old fruit trees, I have found several square nails that I think were made between 1839-1890. This fits with what i know about the area and pretty much confirms this site for me.
I think the button was dropped by some young guy on his way overseas around 1945. I found it at around 7" in pretty soft (at least compared to what I'm used to) ground. Hope he got home.
