Found this 4 hole button on a beach in Greenport Long Island. It rang up silver. I haven’t been able to find a similar one online. Can anyone help ? E70F793A-1C0E-473A-ABA5-0B3E9F82D2B6.webpFF4ED6E7-EA10-48AB-A5BD-E5EA051946E2.webp

Civil War is the closest info I’m finding. I have found images that look similar but made from Pewter

It's not silver. If it were silver, it would come out of the ocean black from tarnish.

A silver acid test kit would prove me correct. (Google it, Amazon has them)

If it were a silver button, it would be a lot fancier. A simple 4 hole button in silver, is highly unlikely.

Here are other ways to test the metal:

Good luck brother!

Congrats on the button find.

Hi and thanks for your response. I didn’t find the button in the ocean. I found it in the beach. Dry sand way above the high water mark. I’ll look into the testing kit though. It rang up In the mid 90s on my ACE 400. Thank you.

Thank you!

Congrats. Nice one.
