Friend of mine needs help identifying this button he found detecting. Any ideas? I figure cuff button but I don't know how old or off of what. Thanks for looking!

Oh, forgot this. The back says London. Didn't they make uniforms?

London make uniforms? Its the capital with many button manufacturers. Its Civvy & mid-19th C.
