Hello all👋. I need help identifying this button I dug in Massachusetts USA. The button face it says General Post Office with the # 171 in the center. The backmark says FIRMIN & SON STRAND LONDON. I've posted on ID sites in the U.S. and got no response. My own personal research I came up with possibly a Postal Button from Post Office #171 in Gloucester County U.K from 1844 to 181857. I have not actually seen a photo of a button like mine anywhere! Any information would be greatly appreciated 👍

My opinion is that your button dates more to the early1800s, maybe 1824-1826. That is going by what I read in Tice's "Dating Buttons". By 1844 most buttons were two piece.
