I've got a photo showing 40 different Jacksonian button emblems ...but it's a 16.5Megabyte bitmap image, so I can't post it here. I can't make out enough detail in your button's uncleaned front to see if it matches any of the emblems in the photo. I realize your button is in brittle consition, but please try to do at least somewhat more cleaning and post another photo.

Looks like a Victorian flower button - maybe a lotus flower. I agree with Cannonball- clean it.

That's about as clean as it gets. water and a soft tooth brush. HH
