No face too it really plain same color as the back I'll try and get picture as requested though.

The Hammond, Turner & Sons backmark was used from 1790-1811/14 and again from 1823-at least 1860. So, by nhbenz's reckoning the button predates 1834 but it could go back to 1790. In case you didn't know, this button is of English origin, made in Birmingham. I would consider it a good find.

Probably not worth more than a couple dollars. But, to me the value is not monetary. Just finding an old button of any type is a great thrill to me. Buttons are my favorite relics to find. And, one day, Good Lord willing, I will find a Confederate one!

Best find for me was a partial Georgia buckle that came out of a fire pit in many pieces. I found about half of it.
