Button Shank ID...

Not sure about the shank on this button. Looks like it could be a snap button. But, when I think of snap buttons I think of something modern and the front doesn't look too awefully modern to me. Any ideas?

BTW. I have been using BuckleBoy's toothpick method for cleaning buttons with success.http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,165857.0.html The trick for me is don't use water at all. Even to rinse the loose dirt off. I'll let it dry then rub the loose dirt off with my fingers. Then work with a toothpick and rub with my fingers. Now, I can't wait to dig more buttons so I can clean them.

I think it's a rivet rather than a button.

Nice find - and clean up job :thumbsup:
