It's a "Rifles, Militia button very similar to 26B in Albert's button book. I can't give you a date on it but I think it will lean towards the early 1800s. Surely some of the more knowledgeable guys here will pin the date down for you. That is a nice button and a really good find.

The very similar button in this link was ID'd (essentially just like Fyr said), as an 1816-1830 button Rf-26B
