Any info on this button. It's brass about the size of a nickel found in central Georgia .

My first thought was a saw medallion, then possibly a pistol grip medallion, then part of a snap or overalls button.

Very ornate. Nice find.
Maybe it is a small knob for a drawer or jewelry box.

Pictured below is a door knob with a small hole for a set screw on the side of the shaft. Does your find have one of these?
