Found these in the woods near an old school that was built in 1812. Found some Merrill Carbine bullets in same area. I know the buttons are more modern military but found the lead hem weights in with them and not sure what era they were used. Can't read back of buttons.

The bullet is only 45 caliber but very heavy for caliber. It may or may not be CW era but did find what I think is a percussion cap in same area. Ears are rolled up unlike others I have seen but appears to be right size.

And last but not least a penny button.

Oh and of coarse .....no coins.....worst run of luck on coins I have ever had on coins. Love the G2 so far except it is allergic to coins.:BangHead:

Can anyone identify bullet ?

As much stuff you are finding, the coins will come.I hunted one old house site about .25 acres 6 or 7 times. All I was finding was old flat button.I said to myself it has to be a coin here. The last trip turn up a 1853 silver 3 cent.
Just what is a hem weight ?

They used the hem weights to keep the corners from rolling up on coats etc. Also drapes and curtains. I have only dug ones like those in Civil War camps but obviously used later as they were found in with the buttons in about a 6 ft squara area. I also found the little toy revolver in same general area. The bullet and percussion cap found at a different site. At least I think it is a percussion cap. Again the ears are kind of rolled up unlike others I have found and seen.:icon_scratch:

The buttons are WWI, some great finds.

Thanks Don.....checked out your site. Really cool. Loved the vids:icon_thumleft:

Nice Finds and you will eventually dig coins there when the ground gets saturated I bet. Looks like a very promising site. HH, Quindy.
