Got out to an 1800's farm house yesterday for a couple hours. Found these two buttons, a nice bell and 1917 wheaty. Not much of a button expert (not an expert on anything for that matter) but I'm hopeful they are 1800's. The gold one has a nicely preserved back but the front has no detail left, or maybe never had any. Can't seem to find a maker on it. Second one is really toasted. On the front I can make out some writing and just above it I swear I can see a shield. Such as on military buttons in the eagle but haven't been able to find any pics during research to make a possible match. The bell is really cool. Inside the rim it looks like someone engraved it themselves using dots. Can see 85 pretty clear. Maybe 1985 not sure. Anyway thanks for looking and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
