Hi All,
Started out hunting Cob Cove,
Prize find is a 1700 William III Pewter Spoon. Broken :'(
After some research, I now discover I have parts from 3 others.
Got another 1812 Artillery Corps button, & a piece of a GS Eagle.
Small Dandy button with poppy pods, now why would THOSE be on a button ;D
Of hundreds of old mackeral jigs I've found, the first of this 'Ball' type.
Couple of 3 lb lead ingots.
Took a lunch break & headed inland.
Saw a sign 'Tree farm Water & recreation area', headed into the brush and first signal was this 1881 Indian Cent, couldn't really tell what it was, even after a soak & brush.
Sooo, I heated it over a gas flame and dropped it in cold water. Endo Crusto.
I'm satisfied with the outcome.
Brass key that had iron bit, First I've seen of this type, 'patent pending 28'
44 mag drop & a few other pieces.
Good days hunt.
Best digs to all, Thanks for looking

Thanks everyone!
I love getting feedback on my Digs ;D
First thought the little dandy had acorns, but no, they are the magical poppy.
here's a couple pix I took of an 'experiment' I performed a few years back.
They got some awards on Flickr.
best to you all :hello:

thanks for your info, it's interesting.
they may have come from the "Chadwick lead Works' in Salem Ma.
It was in operation for a long time, here is a monster 30 pounder dug last year.
(in NH)
They are currently bulldozing the surface of the old mill into piles, considered a hazardous site. I'm thinking of getting down there to scan the area before they bury everything. it is located on Lafayette st right at the Marblehead/Salem line, and surrounded by conservation land, It may be part of the grant itself.
If anyone is in the area on weekends, I'd consider hitting it.
