Yo! YEP, you ARE in a good area... back in the mid-1980's, I owned an A-Frame "Comtemp." house & 4 acres up from Ash Lawn & Kluge Estate (when they were still together). Hiked Brown's Mountain, Carter's Mountain, along Rt. 20 south to Scottsville... ahhh, da memories!!! Get to know your neighbors, MAYBE, they will be "friendly"; I would ALSO join the local "historical society", spend time in Alderman Library at UVA, reading up on colonial history, etc. Ch'ville has GREATLY changed since I lived in the area...
