CA49 - Northern California

[CA49]

Hey all,

I'm new to metal detecting, got my first metal detector today, Garret AT Pro and I am still gathering other supplies to get me started. I joined the forum to get advice on gear, maybe meet new folks in my area and see what everybody is finding out there.

I live in Nor Cal and I like to get outdoors for fly-fishing and off-roading, so figured metal detecting might be a good activity to go along with that.

Welcome, Metal detecting will go great with your other activities. You'll need a good pin pointer for sure and of coarse something to dig with. You might want to watch some you tube videos that feature the AT pro. Just get some swing time in and learn your machine ( Don't get discouraged). Think outside the box on places to detect, I've found coins out in the middle of nowhere and of coarse relics. Have fun..
