My sister is an elementary school teacher in California.
Just before last Christmas she was asked to clean out the desk
of a teacher who had retired.
She found this bunch of (mostly) pre-Euro European coins dating
from the 1970's and 1980's (no silver).
The retired teacher didn't want them, my sister has no interest
in coins, so she gave them to me.
I suspect they are souvenirs from the teacher's trips.
I am not sure what to do with them.
I suppose most are valueless as they have been replaced by the Euro.
Countries represented:
United Kingdom, the George VI florin is from 1949
Spain, Franco and Juan Carlos
Portugal
Denmark
Norway
Germany, oldest is 1949
Japan
Bermuda
Canada
Also included was a token "No Cash Value".
