I found this cache of blades in a field in Thomas County Georgia several years ago. All the blades are between 4 and 5 inches long. All were in the same place lying on top of each other.

Welcome & nice find.

I guess burial site jumps to mind!

Awesome cache. You may want to post them in American Indian Artifacts, great forum with a great group of folks.

Nice find, that would be the biggest thrill for me or my son as far as finding something related to Indian artifacts.
I remember a fellow member of a geologist club I once belonged to found a cache of what he called "blanks" buried in a group, but these were all vertical and neatly placed there. What I remember being said is, that they would bury the blanks in the moist earth for awhile before making the final point or whatever. It was said that was to keep the moisture content up in the stone to make it easier to flake off the pieces in shaping the stone.

That cache was found along the Susquehanna River below Harrisburg, Pa. A known hotbed for artifacts.

They were left there just for you! Awesome dicovery.

That is a great find. I found 13 pieces, all stacked upon each other and the top one was the only preform in the bunch...d2
