Calif back road trip

Diane and I like to take off on the California back roads with no firm destination. You get to see those things you miss by sticking to the interstate. Last week we were on a country road east of Coulterville and saw some huge mules grazing with a group of horses. These mules must have been crossed with Clydesdales because they dwarfed the horses. We also ran across a horse with one blue eye (makes him look a bit scary)

hello, hurthawk, Nice pics. I always like to see pics of horses. I've seen a few with a blue eye like that. And they
do look strange. It's hard to get used to looking in their eyes. And that idea of taking back roads is always best if
you are not in a hurry, because of being able to see so much more. My wife and I do that, yoo every chance we get.

The mule looks to be a Belgian Draft horse cross. The coloring is right for a Belgian. Coulterville & Greely Hill are pretty cool places to explore. There are some cool ghost towns on the shore of the lake just a mile or so from Coulterville. Since the water level is so low you can find neat stuff hiking the shoreline. Bagby is pretty much out of the water right now too.
