Hey all I got very lucky and went by a very well known union camp that had been given up as hunted out. Well a bulldozer brought this place back to life. This is allin about 12 hours of hunting. Signals are way slow now but still a few bullets left I am sure. :coffee2:

Wow! Bulldozers usually mean bad news for a site as a whole but way to go on capitalizing on it.

5 out of 10 buttons were damaged . Not sure if it was the bulldozer or years of plowing but they moved a lot of surface dirt.

That is absolutely killer! Look at all that! Are those eagle buttons artillery or infantry?

Two are infantry cuff buttons and the rest are general service. I also found like 11 button backs. It has been a blast and only the 2nd camp site I have ever been on. Pretty awesome.

Very awesome! I find alot of general service from 1812 to 1820..ish. those are one piece pewter. Worn by the men in the second Seminole war here in fla.(1835-1842) I have only two eagle cuff buttons but they are worn so I can't see the letter.

GB, I would much rather be digging the older stuff like you. Sounds like you are in a good location. I am planning on moving to the panhandle of Fl. when I retire from the AF. Can't wait!

Thanks for your service and your post. Good luck to you sir.
