Camprobber & Chickadee (added a few more)

Grey Jay living up to it's name as "Camp Robber". I smear some home made suet on the little tree, trying to get a picture of a woodpecker, and a few other species but the Grey Jay's quickly eat the bait.

I learned recently, that the other one is a "Mountain Chickadee. I never knew there were different species.

Nice pic's, I actually caught a 'camp robber' once in Wy while we were logging, it followed a trail of breadcrumbs between my legs sitting down, & I bet my buddy I could catch one, & did. ;D

Great shots ron. We don't have much of a variety around here. I have to leave home to get a good choice.

Yes, they are friendly bird. I have a bowl of water I keep out for the birds. I keep a pot of water on the woodstove, and pour the hot water in the bowl every morning to melt the ice. I was outside one morning, not 3 feet away from the frozen water bowl, and one of these Camp Robbers flew in and pecked on the ice a few times. He then turned his head and looked at me like he was telling we have a problem here. :laughing7:

Hey PB, Yeah I don't understand why we have so many different varieties of birds that spend the winter here in the deep snow country.

Ron - Outstanding photos once again, always a pleasure. :hello2: :hello2: The detail is sharp as a tack.

Re: Camprobber & Chickadee

Great capture Ron, as usual. Our chickadees are much lighter in color, and our Jays are blue, so it's nice to see the birds from other areas.

P.S. Nice Mug!

Thanks Country Girl.

We have another jay bird here called a "Stellars Jay". They are similar to the eastern blue jay, but have darker blue colors. I have been seeing a couple of them all day, but have not got a shot yet.

Here's a few more I got today. A Junco, and I think the others are House Finches. (Figured i would post them in this thread rather than cluttering things up.)
