Some of you may know of the camp site development coming up across the river from our property. Here's a few scenes to what has developed within the past couple of months. Street is paved, speed limit signs up, fire hydrants, the underground electrical wires, sold signs popping up.

I've looked for Indian Artifacts after they cleared the trees out...no luck. It's because our property was higher ground and the area across the river was swamp.

This is one of our boat slips...here's where I bathe the dogs.

We're on the west side...If you notice the "green" that's swamp on the other side.

Those are some gret pic's River, I love the cows too cute. Now $275,000 for a 75x100' camp site? I hope the tent is included ;).

That has to be a nice feeling to know that lots across the river from you go for that much money.....swamp, snakes and all...............

Hey Rat! Good ole Louisiana swamp ya got there. Love the moss. Wish it grew on my place. Are those your cows? Thanks for sharing! Rich neighbors, sounds like. I didn't know people camped in this state ... too many bugs ... ?? Any gators in there? -Noodle

WOW, $275,000. For that price, I want a cabin !!

Now you'll have to put up with more people around.
Hopefully, it'll raise your property values.

Beautiful country down there.

Thanks for all the replies, y'all. This is part of the golf & residential resort. Waterfront lots are hard to find these days, there's another development further down river. I understand with our constant consulting with the developers, the camps are to be on 10' pilings, will have certain guidelines they will have to follow...camps have to have same color roofs, etc. The river is narrow up in this area, so the boats will have to be smaller & a no wake zone.

Yep, they're trying to buy us out already.

Yep, those are my cows...they're here to stay, they were here 1st. I already mentioned that to the developers to let those buyers know cause the camps will be facing my pasture & the cows sleep on the riverbank to stay cool. I told them I did not want to hear the 1st complaint about my cows mooing in the morns.

Have not seen any gators this year yet. Too much commotion going on with the construction.

Yeah, it's sad to see land torn apart like that just to fullfil yuppie desires. Won't be long and all the wildlife will be gone, drunks on the river, your cows getting harrassed and possibly shot and trash all up and down the banks of the river. There is a big development in its infancy out here but will be a whole bunch of overpriced homes on 4 or 5 acres to sell to the people making a killing selling their homes in Southern California. The first thing the developers did was to rename a freeway exit off I-5. It used to be "Snively" but, can you imagine a yuppie-type living off the Snively offramp?? No way, It's now called "Sunset Hills". That should make a lot worth at least $10,000 more than the original price. Throw in a bunch of CCR's and it's just like heaven.
One place already operating up here won't even let your relatives come visit in their overpriced motorhomes and run an electric cord to your house for power while they are there. You'll be fined.
Gimme dat ol' time religion
