Got back to campus today and spent 5 hours swingin the CZ. The weather finally warmed up. 70 degrees was so nice today and a super change from frozen fingers weather. I hope it lasts.
I found 144 coins with a face value of $7.59, an old thimble, a wheat penny, a brass ring and a mystery brass item.
The thimble is rimless and from what I have been able to find out I think it might be late 1700s to mid 1800s if I am right. The wheat is a 1935 in really good shape a brass harness ring and a mystery brass item.
I have no I idea what the brass item is. It looks hand crafted. It has 2 small holes for nails or screws on one end, a hole that goes all the way through the center shaft and on the T end has a hole in each half of the T that are filled with rusted parts of nails or screws. Any ID help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
