Can Anybody ID these Buttons?

I know they're rough.I found them in a site near Trenton NJ that has produced several 1700s British Copper Coins,buttons,relics etc.The One with the 3 on front is the one with the hollow back.The One with the name on back is the one with the blank front.I have not attempted to clean them beyond using a little water..Thanks

Hello! The first one is a 19th century flat button and the second one appears to be a modern snap. I don't think that is actually a "3" on the face as it's not centered and barely legible. Most likely just staining from the ground.

Is there a design on the flat button and what does it state on the reverse?
