I found this button in Greenville SC, in an area that possibly had unCivil War history. Any idea what ive got? Says SCOVIL on the back. Thanks.

nice find I also have one found here around Wilmington nc
 
Very nice I also recently found a WW1 button identifiedon this site in Ann Arbor Michigan no battles have been fought here that I know of. Nice collectible
 
its a marines 2- piece, low convex with border. on the back it should say Leavenworth & Co / superfine
