Can anyone appraise this buckle?

Found this buckle today, did some research and found its from the Spanish american/Indian war era. Makes sense since General Custer's 7th calvary camped and explored this area. Would appreciate an appraisal. Thanks

If I am not mistaken it is Indian war era and went to a wide web cartridge belt.
