Can anyone help date this pic frame

Picked this up for a painting I have seems pretty old square nails and bubbles in the glass on the front maybe someone here knows frames and could help

I'd guess no newer than 1920's, could go back to late 1800's Can you get a better focus of the nail?

The pic inside was dated 1862

Hmm, it's a machine made cut nail, that type came around in the mid 1800's and they're still in use today, but not generally for fine woodworking. That being said, the date on the picture isn't out of the realm of possibility for the date of the frame. It's a nice looking one for sure.

I got it to put a painting in

Then taking old pic out I noticed the date it was covered. And the way the glass was cut

1850 -1870 !?vanzutphen Man that is a nice oval frame and the eye hooks and wire is similar to a couple of pics found in my attic and a lady said mine where from 1850-70 not sure if she was correct also nails play a big factor too.

Didn't even think to look at the way eye hook was made
