Can anyone help identify what appears to be a silver pendant from the 1800's?

The pendant appears to be silver. It's hollow with a small hole on one end. What appear to be eyelets to hang it from a chain (one is missing, the other is stretched and broken open as if it were pulled off of the chain). Found in Sierra County near Goodyears Bar.

Welcome to the forum, no help here, but congrats

I wonder about that hole in one end. Does the piece look like it could open up at all? Just thinking out loud. It's beautiful. -Lisa

Could this be a link from a watch band?

My thought also, might trigger it like a padlock is my guess.

It is a simple asian lock used for cabinets or jewelry boxes.
a straight pin is inserted to "un-lock"
Simply search "asian lock" and you will find other examples.
