Can anyone identify this rock??

I've been researching and can't find what kind of rock this is. Does anyone know? It has many very thin layers that are pearly on the outside.

So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).
