All I came up with is the second character in from the right on the top row is "sword" in Japanese.

"Read Owners Manual before operating this sword", "Not for internal use"?

The Cartouche is close to that of Al Mar knives. And the character in the upper left is close to the symbol for Seki, a blade making city/region in Japan.

C'mon, guys! The man is just asking for help, not announcing a thousand year lineage. Cheap copy or not. Good work, Charlie! ╦╦Ç

I saw one in the 70's that was given to a friend while working in Japan. It wasn't a copy, repo or tourist junk. It was a new sword, just not the quality of the early ones.

I once owned a WW11 Japanese NCO sword. Real plain thing but a collectable, none the less. ╦╦Ç
