Found it in an old stagecoach town where my father-in-law lives. He had no idea what it is, and i have no idea how old it is.

Looks to be the sideplate off of an old rifle!! But I'm just guessing!! Could you possibly show us the other side?? GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

See i thought it was the side of a rifle too but i didn't find the barrel of the rifle or anything else that might of went with it

Cannot see the part real well. Look like an electrical part? The curved bent part looks insulated and the screw some sort to adjustment.
Just a guess

Yea I have to agree with you guys, doesn't look like a firearm from the other side!! Does appear to be some type of adjustment mechanism!! VERDE!!
