Does the E-Trac or Explorer SE Pro accurately identify can slaw so you can avoid wasting time digging it up? Anybody got the numbers on can slaw? There is a lot of it in the parks around here. In one it seems the slaw is strewn everywhere. It would take forever to dig it all out of the ground. I'd rather be digging coins. Of course, digging trash is unavoidable but I don't have all day to do it. Since both of these detectors measure conductivity and inductivity (ferrous) I'm thinking they would provide more accurate identification than, say, a Safari that only measures conductivity. Thanks

I find that when I pin point, the can slaw will cause the pin point to be erratic especially when I move around the target. If it is solid, then it is most probably a coin. I also find that on pin point, if it is a short pop, then it is a coin. Can slaw will have a lead and trailing sound that is pretty pronounced when in pin point.

The Safari measures both conductivity and ferrous. You can set the machine to work either way. Monty

I didn't know that. Thanks, Monty. How does your Safari handle can slaw? Is it a problem?

I'm still in the learning phase , but can slaw hasn't been a major problem so far. I can usually tell that's what it is when I hit it. Monty
