found this today in gold rush country. The only thing I know about it is the owner left a lot of nuggets for me.

California Gold Rush miners Tongue and wreath buckle, from 1850s, known as rope border eagle. Any California miner worth his salt wore one of those. Nice find! Notice guy seated on left is wearing one, as is the unkempt miner below.
