Can someone tell me more about this object ?

Bonjour et bienvenue en T-Net! It looks like a Powder Horn for holding gunpowder.

Tu parlez l'anglais tres bien.

I noticed this was your very first post Raphgbb - so, Welcome Aboard! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - agree with TreaSureQueen. Here are a few examples I found on: A Woodsrunner's Diary

As stated in the previous posts... you have a "powder horn"...

The question now is IF it is authentic / real.

I say this because of the "loop" at the tapered end.

This may be a "fantasy piece" / "prop piece" due to the design.

IF you want me to evaluate this further... please take a few more CLOSE UP pictures of "tip".

And pictures of close up nature of "mid section".

Oh... and Welcome to Treasurenet.

Ok...

What you may have is a Middle Eastern horn...

Hence why it seemed "funny" to me and threw me off...

Its a replica made to look old. I've seen 2 or 3 like that one before. People carve these and sell them , nice though.
