Found today in Minnesota along an early (1850's or earlier) road. Of course, it may not be from that period... there were farms around and other horse traffic, I'm sure. I was able to find one picture of a very similar design that claimed to be from Gettysburg, but couldn't find enough similar ones to have any real confidence in that.

Yeah, if it hadn't been my own thread, I definitely would have made that same joke. I totally understand that urge.
 

I know that style was around at the time of the Civil War, so it is at least that old.
 

My guess would be 1845 - 1870 +/-, nice find! :occasion14:
