In Kauai Hurricane Iniki had gusts to 225, stalled over the island, and stripped every tree. the storm surge combined with a high tide hit 30'. the storm waves in Jurassic Park were filmed by the crew during Iniki.

I'm happy I'm 100 miles inland.

Stupid thing hasn't moved north at all yet. The Weather Channel folks are so excited!

I’ve been between three females talking, figure it’s close

Went through hurricane Charlie. 172 constant winds so I can relate. Don't want to do it again.

The turn North will come on Tuesday, when and where are the big questions. In the meantime it is grinding West at 4 mph.

Glad I'm on the West coast, far away from Dorian (and Trump, who said Dorian will not impact Alabama).

I'm glad you are there too....

This morning its pounding the Bahamas at 175 MPH. Before moving out west to Colorado then New Mexico, I lived in Florida for 25 years. This does not look good.

A 1 MPH monster. Monster!

One reason I won't move to Florida. New Mexico, huh?

Hunker down Smoky. May end up your way.

Guys and girls, the one thing good when the storm is at 1 mph is that it is meeting those features that are supposed to turn the beast. It's bucking up against the cold front moving across the mid states and some disturbance still out in the gulf. Those are the items that are planned on making the storm move up north. When it slowed down, that is good for everybody except those directly in the storm.

That's the gust speeds on Hurricane Dorian. Still going due west and about 145 miles from Florida. The weather folks that the wind speed is like a "4" on the tornado scale.
I hope that it dose not hit our country and go out to sea.
