I've been trying to decipher the marks on this old, vintage belt. :BangHead: It has amazingly soft leather. Made in Italy. But... what does it say before the word "Calf"? Any guesses? Thx! DSCN0958[1].webpDSCN0959[1].webpDSCN0960[1].webp

I can't really make it out either so will go by memory, "genuine calf skin".

Maybe "grade A" calf ... in fancy letters that make it hard to read?

Lay it on a table and take some pictures in low light with no flash. Then take some with a LED flash light or a desk lamp at different angles. Camera straight on, light at different angles. You might be able to see a color difference where the embossing came off. Another technique is to take a paper towel barely (emphasis on BARELY) dampened and blot where the embossing is / was. Other than that off to google you go looking for pics of mens dress belts.....
