EPNS is short for Electroplated Nickle Silver

As stated EPNS=Trade term for electro-plated nickel-silver, introduced ea. 1846.

William Suckling, William Suckling & Son, and Suckling Ltd all of Birmingham used EPNS in their markings. Along with several other manufacturers.
