🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Cap gun handle?

not a lot of signals today except iron so toward the end I started digging it since it’s such an old site. Scraping on it and it’s a half of a handle? Looks like it’s got grip texture. I got it soaking now in vinegar to reveal more. Some of the first cap guns seem to have that possible shape. Am I on the right track? This isn’t from a real pistol?
