🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Old Button? I dont know.

Found a button on my land in Virginia. Measures 18mm in width. Reads a 39-40 on my Nokta Makro Legend. Can kind of make out 'color' on the back. Please help. Thanks!

My guess a flat button Early 1800's

I think your button, with the recessed backmark and the American spelling of the word color dates from about 1820-1840.
