Cap Gun

[Silver? Gold?]

I recently found this cap gun in a 1940's neighborhood. The owner of the house, where I was digging, told me there was a genreal store where I was. However I could find no evidence of this store apart from the gun. Does anyone know the age?

my guess is that it was made probably early to mid 1980's. by US law, cap guns had to have blaze orange caps on the barrels starting in Feb. 1987
