Today the Shrine Temple I belong to had it's annual Car Show. Thought I'd share some of the photos I took at the show.

Of course I entered my '79 Corvette so it gets a little preferential treatment in my post.

We had some National Winners that showed but they didn't compete. Here's a mighty fine one:

And here's one for Country Girl....er...henry and Maatha. The second photo is the medallion on the grill of the truck.

Now here's some general shots of the show:

For some reason there weren't many Fords...a lot of Chevrolets, and a whole bunch of modifieds.

Here's a few more:

I was told it was an old mail truck used in Canada. When winter passed the treads and skis could be easily removed and tires put in their place.

Very nice pictures. My girlfriends grandfather drove one of those "mail trucks' ...they called it a "half truck" in Northern Wisconsin . I remember seeing pictures of it in the towns historical society. Looks like you had a great day !

Thanks Super and Gypsy for the comments.

BTW, my car is the second one in the Corvette row. What you can't make out (And my picture didn't work out) at the end of the row is a 1954 Corvette in original condition.

Here's one like it:

It won Best of Show -Original

Hey thanks for sharing the day Wes! I love the old truck, of course. But shinny red corvettes still have a place in my heart :D.

I actually got interviewed for TV with our old truck :-\, should air next week :-[, we shall see how I did. Yeah the hubby insisted I do it!

Great pics Wes, Thanks for posting.

The mail truck is my favorite one of the modifieds. Your red corvette is awesome for the age.

Thanks for sharing Wes.

Fossis................

Thanks CG, Ron, and Fossis for looking and for your comments! ;D

BTW... I was a judge (Not in my class...darn it! ;D ) and judged the Jaguar. It's a 1951 in "showroom condition" and it would have been my selection for Best of Show if it had been up to me. That was one sharp ride!

Wes I loved the post ! Thanks for sharing all the pictures > love love car shows !!! I really like the red vette with the cool looking guy in it ::) Thats my pic for best in show ;D

Wes,

Great looking cars...especially the vett ;D

When I was younger, I used to make the Daryl Starbird Custom Car Shows in Oklahoma City. They were a lot of fun.
