Sounds like easy pickings to me! And no sore back!.

Man, thats a nice haul... Maybe we should all trade our detectors for some vacuum cleaners... ;D
Had to do a spell check on vacuum, what a stupid way to spell it...

LOL.. that is a stupid way to spell it.
Gonna Have to ask my friend that owns the gas station if I can search his vacuum.

Guys, the car wash vac. are great in the winter-just be careful of broken glass & syringes(NASTY NEEDLES)!!! Try using a sifter !st-use one that came w/Garrett gold pan set. That way no coins go through-but a lot of people also suck up water from windows they forgot to roll up before a rain and the stuff really stinks and corrodes those copper/zinc cents.

Well I went to the old carwash today and shoveled quite a load of that dirt pile! Moved it to a place I can work and used a sifter to put the dirt in and blasted it with the water hose right on the edge of a small incline so the mud washes downhill. This is fast and easy but I had little time...found three quarters, two pennies, two little tractor wheels and a red magnetic "A". Guessing by the size of the dirt pile compared to what I did today, if today was an average, there is hundreds of dollars in that pile! The townsfolk are going to think I'm nuts when they see me there picking up all the trash and mowing the back lot where they used to spread out the dirt pile! Giterdone

glad to see that there is more than me cleaning up on at the car wash. he he he

Hello every one,

I was reading, thanks to jeff of pa, about the coins at the car wash, but have you ever considered about the loose diamonds that you may not be getting?

Think about it, if you classified the material (gravel) and put it through a Sharooka, bingo diamonds that are already cut waiting to be put into rings or the bank!

Just some thoughts. ::)

Uhhh, not to drudge up ole memories, but could u tell me what u found in that box? was it civil war relics? GOLD? well tell me if u absulutly hate my curiousity or me, but i beg u to tell me, HH oh and i won't tell a soul, if u e-mail me, HH CS oh adn GREAT finds!

i own a cleaning and restoration company..we offer flood, fire and mold remediation as well as alot of carpet and upholstery cleaning..
during the summer we offer auto interior cleaning, of the carpet and seats, to our regular clients..

they are always informed during time of booking to make sure all change and personal item are removed as they will be sucked up and end up in the mchines waste tank..

one of my machines is devoted only to cleaning car interiors..every week when its cleaned out, there is at least $10 in clad at the bottom of the tank.. (usually more, the most in one week was $16)

found a diamond stud earring in there once, tracked down the client it belonged to and returned it..
2 days later she' calls and asks if i can stop by..she made me a cake as a thank you!
she got the studs from husband for anniversery, very expensive.

I don't know if you would consider this treasure or not>Marlboro Miles.....When they started thier Promo.....and was giving away a pool table as a prize (Think it was 10-15,000 miles.....I started thinking about how many cigs. I'd have to smoke to get it....Way too many).....but It was at the end of the promo when I figured out how to get that many....I was layed off for 2 weeks and didn't have much to do.....So in my spare time....I hit all the Car wash dumpsters and peeled off the Marlboro Miles....I know that sound REAL DUMB......But I collected over 11,000 miles in two weeks........I got every thing in the promo book (including 2 winter coats, and 2 pair of Dan Post Cowboy Boots) and still gave away ehough miles for my 2 sisters and my nephew to get all they wanted.......
.................A Car Wash can be a Gold Mine to some of us Poor Folks .!

VERY INTERESTING...
So Im to undersatnd that the owners of carwashes, often enough, just dump the vacuum cleaner waste at the back of the site somewhere? Hmmm, very interesting...

I've looked at a few local car washes and have yet found a pile of dirt to play in(so to speak). :D But I'm up for the challenge if I do find one. ;D

Some owners/managers just dump the stuff into a big trash dumpster to be hauled off. Never hurts to ask-when full 4 vacs. will pretty much fill (3) 33 gal trash cans so be prepared to have room to haul it if you do.

hummmmmmmm...sounds interesting....not too long ago up here there was a guy who got arrested for sucking the quarters out of the vacuums...he would put the money in the vacuum and when the vacuum starts he would suck all the quarters out of the vacuum and then empty the bin..he had over three hundred dollars in quarters
