Car Wash finds

Neat article. Thanks for sharing it. Although I have to admit, I'm not sure that I would be able to make myself take home someone else's vacuuming debris.

Very cool article - thanks for sharing!

$ilver$urfer :hello:

Nice article, but I liked this line "Sacagawea dollars and other collectible coins can be lurking in the trash" along with "My best find to date is a 1922 Morgan silver dollar" :laughing7:

The guy that wrote the article must not know about coins too much...

"My best find to date is a 1922 Morgan silver dollar"...Total Mintage: 0

LOL, I didn't even catch that Peace dollars came out in '21. I was also wondering who throws out rolled coins, unless they got them just for the car wash.

The guy probably means either 1921 morgan or he doesn't know the difference between a morgan and a peace.

1922 Morgan should be a best in universe coin ;D , maybe the guy just found a rarest on the earth coin! I think it's a peace 1922 dollar.

Nice read. I never use carwashes though so I'd feel a bit odd just going over there without needing to be there. Just how I am. But I do always look on the ground walking into fast food places. You'll find some change. People don't like pennies is a 100% fact.

How does one get access to the dirt the vacuums pick up? Does the guy go ask? Because you would think they would ask what he was up to, then that ends that deal if they wanted to get the money rather than give it away.

my question exactly, I think if you went in and asked for the dirt, they would think you were nuts!

My assumption was that he looks in the trash can next to the vacuums. Perhaps the people cleaning out the vacuums sometimes just dump the contents into the closest trash bin and then forget to empty it.
