I found this buckle in an area having known Civil War activity. It looks similar to, but not exactly like, a Union Cavalry Carbine Sling buckle. The stamped words "Solid Brass" look relatively modern, but it is also stamped "England". I've heard that the Confederates imported items from England (CSA cavalry was definitely in this area). Could this be such an item or maybe a more modern English Army military buckle? Has anybody seen an example like this? Thank you for any information you can provide.
