Yeah, thats probably where the silver dollar or gold coin went. There is still a big pile there but not big enough so they had to haul some dirt out as the area is about 12" lower now

I wish. I have found just about every type of coinage from seated on up in this field but it does not have anything older. Over 100 indians but not one large cent so they were definitely not in circulation by the 1870s-80s. Spanish silver was demonitized in 1857:(

Nice salvage on the dime! Any silver before 1900 is a "day maker" find. Congrats!
