Casino nickels & vault box #7
Good news/bad news kinda day, first the bad. Half dollar box #7 from the casino vault was a genuine Mephitis mephitis (skunk, that is) filled with roughly half new coins. No silver, proofs, or errors.
It was date stamped 8/11/06, about two weeks older than #6 but there were no keepers to speak of. Maybe #8 will be better.
Undaunted, I had to have some success today so I tried $40 in nickels. Bingo! My first Buffalo (1936) of the year! The rest -
1939 (2, both keepers!)
1940
1941 (2)
1949
1952D
1959D
Canadian: 1998
Plus, sitting on the floor in front of the machine I chose was my first 2007-D penny of the year! Woo hoo! In fact it's my first '07 coin period. What started out as a downer searching day turned around nicely!
