Casino nickels

Immy, I am making the drive to Louisiana today to make a minor assault on the casinos. These places are changing over to paper receipts right and left. I wonder if my bride will mind carrying buckets of coins back to the hotel. Good luck this weekend, you are our "Poster Boy" of CRH.
Cheers, Jim

Why aren't those you listed keepers? I thought everything pre-1960 in nickels were keepers?

Well lejeuene, back in the day they used to be keepers for me. About 10 years ago I started trying to complete a roll of each Jefferson nickel date and mintmark. As I finished a roll, 1959-D for example, I stopped saving it.

I'm down to just ten dates now, some of which I'll never finish of course. But the ones I should complete are 1951-S (1 more to go!), 1942-D (3 more) & 1948-S (5 more). The tougher ones that might get completed are 1950 (18 more) and 1955 (23 more) and the really hard ones that'll never get completed are the Big Five: 1938-D, 1938-S, 1939-D, 1939-S & 1950-D.

Most people on this board keep all pre-1960's but I figured one roll is enough, even though dates like 1949-S are tough to throw back (it's one of the top ten lowest mintages in Jefferson's). Hopefully some board buddies will find 'em.

Jefferson keepers for me are the above dates, any 1938 or 1939 (I'm working on my 10th roll of 1939's), 1941-S (large S) and of course any silvers.
