Metal Detecting
Metal detected an old farm/barn/homestead today. Found some bronze horse tack, 1915 wheat cent, a large cent (can’t read date). Also found large copper plate/bowl (seems very old). The two objects that I can’t figure out are the cast iron finial (if that is what it is) and a small, ornate brass object. Can anyone help me identify these objects?

My gut reaction on the "finial" is "lamp". I don't think it is a lamp, but that's what it reminds me of. Does it open? From the photo, it looks like the top part would open in the middle? That small protrusion looks like a handle or hinge or both.

Agree - nice assortment. Recommend cleaning the last and posting some more pics of it (top, bottom, side views).

Will do. I left it in the field to dry out but I'll retrieve it and post some new pictures. Thanks for your help.

Good guess. Google lens was not helpful.
I'm hitting a 3% average with GL.
Some weird suggestions though.
Wonder if they'll ever fine tune it to categories.
