Being out of town for ten days causes many things to pile up: email, postal mail..............and boxes of halves that are routinely ordered for you 8).

Got the first two whittled down to a manageable level; so had to attack the third.

Picked up six (6) boxes of halves yesterday and went through five of them last night.

Box # 152 (for the year) only had an 06P.

Box # 153 gave up a 64P, 68D, 69D, proof 78 and an 05D.

Box # 154 yielded 67x2.

Box # 155, aka the "Summer of Love" box for the disproportionate number of '67s (those of you under 50 may have to have this explained further 8) ) came through with the following numbers:

65x2, 66x4, 68Dx14, 69D................and 67x47 ! Can't explain it, won't try and really enjoyed finding that many. Peace, man.

Box # 156 produced 66x3, 67x12, 68Dx2.

(it should be noted that the first four boxes were the same type (5x10x1) and from the same bank. The last two, one of which I've gone through, are 5x5x2 and from a different bank. So, although #s 155 and 156 had a disproportionally and unusually high number of 67s, even though 67 was the highest minted 40%er by volume, they came from different sources; miles apart.

Even though I went through 5000 halves, (or $2500) I still had a very decent keeper rate as they totaled 93 in all. Interesting though, that only one (the 64P) was a 90%er.

Oh well, not complaining, as these 93 keepers on the night of 02 July represent of 75% of my keepers from the entire month of June.

Have a safe and fun holiday all; and if you're so inclined, have a fifth on the Fourth. 8)

That is sweet Thurm. Very nice haul in a day's work. Keep us posted on the 6th box or # 157. Hope it as good as #155 or even better!

Oh the summer of love....I'm under 50 but you don't have to tell me...... ;)

Re: Catching up (cont.)

  • Box (of halves for the year) #157 gave me another 76 (silver) proof, 68d & 69d

    $25.50 in loose halves yielded 65, 67 & 68dx2

    $180 in loose halves produced 64p, 65, 66, 67x4, 68dx4, 69dx2 & an 04p

    Box # 158 was a skunk

    Box # 159 had a 65 & 68d

    Box # 160 offered up a 69d & 87d

    $240 in loose halves gave me a 65, 67 & 99 (CuNi) proof x2

    Box # 161 produced a 65, 83 proof, 85 proof, 92 (CuNi) proof x2 and a 93 (CuNi) proof

    Box # 162 was a skunk.

I guess what I'm lacking in "margin", I have to make up for in volume. 8)

LOL, come on LJ. We all know why you like silver, your a woman. I'm sure if you are like my wife you like silver but LOVE diamonds and gold.............LOL

Good job on the silver! Seems like you search like me. I go through a lot of boxes per week and get my share of skunks, but then a good box will pop up and be a good producer. Keep plugging away!

Congrats. That's a whole lot of coins to search, but obviously it was worth it.

HH.
